The User Interface

The User Interface. A Sound Concept.

Functionality and user-friendliness in a structural unity.

THINKING WITH OUR USER’S HEAD.

When solving such a complicated task (to create a most optimal user interface) it is not enough to just get the various functionalities in a certain order (as it happens too often) but to arrange these in the order humans in general tend to think and organize their activities. Hence, we were interested what science has to say about this circumstance and what results were made. Taking these results into account enriched by the understanding of a typical user behavior we got pretty well in the vicinity of what is called ‘perfection’.

CRATED IN A LOGICAL MANNER. ELEGANTLY REALIZED.

The typical production settings in their diverse forms represent the requirements of a user interface’s composition and configuration. For us the idea of an ideal process control with factors such as functionality, user-friendliness and Economic Efficiency was the decisive factor. In this respect key words such as One-Stop-Control Panel, Operation, Primary Workspace, User Administration and Dialogue Window are important.

The Software Operation.

It’s a Child’s Play. With a Great System Software.

User-Friendliness and functionalities are the Center of Attention.

TRACKBALL & KEYBOARD. ICONS & MENUES.

Customers operate the system software by using trackball, mouse and keyboard. Activating defined icons or allocation of options via special menues gives access to the diverse functions. As far as editing of certain values is concerned there are special input devices. Their job is the automatic monitoring of lower or upper limits to avoid accidental input errors.

FULL-SIZE WINDOWS.

Some functions have been intentionally created ‘simple’ (just by drag & drop). In general, however, the software uses static windows which adapt to the various requirements. For more special usage there are full-size windows.

The AMADYNE One-Stop-Control Center

The Control Center is Just in Front of Your Eyes.

And it works the way your brain does.

BE THE RULER OF ALL PROCESSES (FROM ONE POINT).

AMADYNE user interfaces build consequently on the One-Stop-Control Panel. It’s a great concept: 100% of all functions are controlled via the system monitor.

AND RULING IS SIMPLE. IT’S USER-FRIENDLY. AND THE’RE NO BUTTONS AT ALL.

There are neither physical operating gadgets nor are there separated monitors for diverse kinds of jobs. At any time all operating settings are within close reach – just on one screen. This is mega user-friendly, saves time and money and is great fun, too. Because the operator’s job has been made so easy and comfortable.

Primary Work Surface.

The Primary Work Surface.

With all important information about the machine status.

STARTING: CAMERA IMAGE …

With the function of ‘primary work space’ users get all basic information to start a production process. Supported by the camera image all important settings can be executed. This includes the system’s switching off as well.

FOLLOWED BY: PROCESSING, INSTRUCTION, SWITCH OFF. EVERYTHING WORKS QUITE ELEGANTLY.

One of this work surface’s function is both ‘processing of products’ and ‘instruction’. This enables users to get a good overview of machine and production status.

The User Administration.

The User Administration.

Security is high on our list of priorities.

A SECURITY ISSUE: SPECIAL SYSTEMS COME WITH …

Each system requires a certain degree of security. Especially in high sensible industries such as microelectronics high standards are needed.

 … SPECIAL ACCESS AUTHORISATION RULES.

The higher the access barrier the more functions users can choose. Various rights can be given to users individually and stored in the Software. Security is high on our list of priorities.

The Dialogue Windows.

In A Dialogue With the System.

Man & Machine Communicating.

THE SYSTEM’S ‘NEWS CENTRE’.

The dialogue section is reserved for the communication between man and machine, i.e. user and system. It’s a kind of news centre. If a user requires information about the machine status in general he gets it here. Moreover, important reports, signals and other dialogue elements appear on the screen when the dialogue window function is active. Dialogue elements can be of various kinds: actual Production status, halt of system (also preemptive), time and other production parameters and … more.

OUR SYSTEMS ARE VERY COMMUNICATIVE.

AMADYNE systems are very communicative. Our engineers have designed and constructed them this way. Feedbacks from systems in sensible fields of industry have to be like this anyway: they must protocol important issues and also look to those areas where issues are smaller but can become bigger if they go unnoticed. Customers take indeed great advantage of such communicative systems.

Great Software.
