AMADYNE offers several options.

Four options are in our portfolio.

ULC – the up-looking camera. You get more precision with an inspective look from below.

NCC – the optical tool calibration. This appliance is designed for the correct definition of the gap size between the main camera’s focus point and the tip of the tool used.

Contactless height determination. This feature is designed for critical applications. In all situations where a component’s height profile is decisive. See also height determination.

Test application for sorting and sorting-off according to criteria such as voltage and brightness.

The Upward Looking Camera (ULC)

The Focus is Fully on the Components.

The ULC is a great solution. Not only to increase the precision.

PERFECT POSITION MEASUREMENT.

The up-looking camera is specially designed to measure from below (while looking upwards). It’s an important application. The user can both make measurements and detect eventual damage with it. The ULC-function can further be used for the calibration of tools in a full automatic mode.

LOKALISATION. QUANTIFICATION. IDENTIFICATION

The ULC has exactly the same features as the main camera in terms of illumination, resolution and Image Processing. Therefore, all Localisations, Qualifications (even Identifications) are possible with this application. Moreover, the upward looking camera can be used to calibrate most of the tools and detect eventual damage there.

The optical measurement is the best solution.

CALIBRATION JOBS ACCOMPLISHED WITHIN SECONDS.

It is very important to exactly know the distance between the main camera’s focus point and the pinpoint of the used tool (e.g. dispense needle). For the finding of the exact values (calibration) different methods are offered. One of the most elegant ones is the optical calibration unit (NCC) which can do its measurement of picking, Stamping and dispense tools absolutely fast in a range of micrometers.

PRECISION IN A MICROMETER RANGE.

NCC is based on two optical precision barriers which can detect smallest items (down to 100µm) e.g. dispense needles. By hardware support (AMADYNE motion controller) objects can be detected in their position three-dimensionally. NCC is maintenance-free and works fully automatic.

Microchip assembly has got to be absolutely precise. 

HOW CRITICAL APPLICATION CHALLENGES ARE MET.

Process steps such as dispensing require a very exact definition of the needle pin point and the substrate. For this purpose a very exact measurement is needed and in the wake of this a very accurate definition of the height profile. The contactless height determination offers the best results.  

THERE ARE INTERESTING ADDITIONAL OPTIONS.

Beside applications such as the contactless height determination by the means of touchdown-contact (which comes as standard with our systems) there are other contactless (non-standard) measurement options such as laser triangulation or white light confocal measurement which can realize repeat accuracies in the lower single digit area. These measurement results can subsequently be used by closest match or by level interpolation.

THE ELECTRIC MEASUREMENT IS AN ALTERNATIVE.

An electrical measurement can (in some cases) be the simpler or more adequate alternative to the Qualifying Image Processing which is designed to detect eventual component damage visually before a process starts. With the electronic measurement, users can test (think of e.g. LED) within the sorting process, categorize by criteria like voltage brightness or wavelength and even place to different locations depending on these criteria.

Probing is also a classic example for the External Module Integration. As a Customization job, we integrate Measurement tools and methods, our clients have either recommended or delivered to us (think of e.g. Source Measurement Unit, Power Meter, Network Analyzer, Spectrometer). We can also develop and create special measurement hardware (like the Probing station in the image above), our customers prefer and order us to make a part of their solutions.
